The moment selfless firefighter resuscitates dog after

removing his OWN oxygen mask to save dying animal

A Detroit man stands dangerously close to his house as plumes of smoke billow out and firefighters tell him to get back.

‘Did you get my dog out!?’ he shouts, angry and worried in one breath.

Moments later, firefighters bring out two dogs, limp in their arms – but that’s not the end of the story.

A film crew from the documentary Burn captured one brave man removing his own air supply and resuscitating the animals.

‘Burn is a feature documentary about Detroit, told through the eyes of Detroit firefighters, who are charged with the thankless task of saving a city that many have written off as dead,’ writes the movie’s directors Brenna Sanchez and Tom Putnam.

The filmmakers were inspired by the stories of Detroit’s dangerous battle with fires in abandoned homes, increasing with the metropolis’s economic struggles.

To make the movie, firefighters donned helmets mounted with HD cameras as they went about their dangerous day-to-day work. The filmmakers were inspired by the stories of Detroit’s dangerous battle with fires in abandoned homes, increasing with the metropolis’s economic struggles

‘You’re going to have to stand back sir,’ the men tell the animals’ owner.

Not long after, they bring out two animals, wilted in their arms.

The owner frantically pets them on the ground, trying to bring them back to life, to no avail.

Finally a firefighter comes over and takes off his air supply and puts it over the snout of the animals.

The owner stretches out his palm to the firefighter – thanking him for saving the lives of his dogs in a strong handshake

With the help of the equipment and little love, the two animals begin to breathe again on their own.

The smaller of the two, a white puppy with a red collar, starts to wobble around the firetruck, trying to get his balance back.
